Message from our Chair of Governors
Dear Parents,
As Chair of Governors it is my great pleasure to write to you on behalf of the Governing body in relation to our recent Ofsted inspection, 6th November, and subsequent report. I hope you have been able to read the letter from the Ofsted Inspector (https://www.plantationprimary.com/page/ofsted-report/16755) and and see their objective view of our School.
The conclusion of the Inspector is that our school continues to be good with effective teaching, fantastic opportunities and support for our children, a place where the children enjoy coming to. It was really pleasing that the Inspector saw all the incredible work of the teachers and staff that takes place in our School.
I regularly have the opportunity to walk around the school speaking to staff and pupils alike. I firmly believe that Plantation is a fantastic school with an effective leadership and management team, teachers and support staff. It was pleasing that the Inspector noted that “there is a welcoming and warm feeling to the school”.
I have two children at Plantation Primary school and share with you all the desire for our children to have a rounded education with excellent teaching and support, but also to enjoy their time at Primary school. The inspector noted that the school has not lost sight of this last point and that lessons are fun with a “buzz”’ in every class. Another important feature for me is to prepare the children for the next step in their learning with a smooth transition and this was noted by the Inspector.
Mr Hanley and the leadership team has “a very good understanding” of our school. The goal to raise attainment and progress is key to school imperovement and staff are “driving the schools improvement with tenacity”.
As in every aspect of life, there are areas to develop and the school is committed to act on the development points identified; indeed; the Inspector commented to me that the school never stands still and is always looking to move forward in all areas.
It was also noted that there are very strong relationships between the staff and pupils and that “we are a school where we all respect each other”.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support of the school.
Yours sincerely
Mr Mike Parsons
Chair of Governors
