Key weekly information:
Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning is a fundamental part of our curriculum. Children will have the maximum opportunities to play and learn outdoors. Children will need their own waterproofs and wellies and these will be kept in school.
Snack
Children will have the opportunity to access snack daily. This will consist of a range of healthy foods such as fruit, yoghurts and toast. A payment of £40 will need to be made at the beginning of the Autumn term and this will cover snack costs for the duration of the year. Children will be provided with the opportunity to access milk and water at their leisure, throughout the day.
Attendance
Daily attendance at school from an early age supports children to fulfill their full potential. Remember that every second of every day counts and please notify the school office on your child’s first day of absence. Our school day starts at 8.45am and ends at 3.15pm
Reading
Children will choose a 'reading for pleaure' library book to bring home every Monday and Thursday. Please ensure that their library book and planner are in their book bag everyday. Planners are used to record reading and to access passwords for educational websites. An adult in our team will check planners every Friday. We will be looking to see if your child has recorded at least four reading entries throughout the week and for a parent/carer signature.
Once your child is issued with a school reading book, these are changed every Monday. Additional reading books are set on Oxford Owl weekly. Please see your child's class teacher if you need help with your child's login details. If you listen to your child read please make a comment and update their reading journal. We will send additional information regarding reading to you on Tapestry throughout the year.
Tapestry
Tapestry is a secure online learning journal used to record photos, observations and comments, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, to build up a record of your child's WOW moments during their time with us. This system allows us to work with parents and carers to share information and record the child's play and learning in and outside of the classroom. Tapestry is a website that can be accessed on a computer or laptop, and also on any Apple or Android device such as a tablet or smart phone.

PE
PE will take place on Monday (RE) Wednesday (RF), Thursday (RL). On days when your child has a PE lesson, they should attend school in their kit for the full day. The correct PE kit MUST be worn. If the person leading the PE lesson deems that your child's kit is not appropriate, they will be asked to sit out and may miss some or all of the session.
A PE kit is:
- Plain White T-shirt or Polo Shirt
- Plain black shorts
- Black tracksuit top and bottoms, black leggings may also be worn
- Trainers or pumps
Other sports kits, such as football kits, are not appropriate and must not be worn. Watches and Jewelry must be removed for PE. Long hair must be tied back.
