Plantation's International and Cultural Project 2017 - 2018

Mr Hodgson

At Plantation we feel the children and staff deserve recognition for all of their hard work over the last 12 months. As a school we have placed a huge emphasis on broadening the minds of all children to ensure they have knowledge of the world around them, outside of the UK. Our aims have been to raise the awareness of diversity and to deepen their understanding of other cultures and traditions; especially in the wake of Brexit. We want to celebrate the children’s achievements and raise awareness of Plantation’s international ethos and cultural understanding. In today’s society we firmly believe in the importance of children having an international awareness and a good understanding of worldwide religions, cultures and traditions. We want our children to see the importance of this and a reward such as achieving the International School Award Full Accreditation would show them that this awareness is valuable and their work is recognised, praised and encouraged. Children and parents know the importance of subjects such as Maths and English through accreditations in those areas and we can, as a school, reinforce to the children and parents the importance of international awareness through this award.
