WW2 day in Year 6

Date: 20th Jan 2018 @ 4:17pm

On Thursday Year 6 went back in time to the 1940's and experienced a WW2 day.

We spent our morning as engineers, building and flying our own spitfire planes. We then used the Ipads and green screen to record Blitz news reports.

An eventful part of the day (well for the staff) was when the children tasted food from WW2 times, let's say the stew was slightly more popular than the sardine paste and the cold mash and jam! The afternoon was spent learning some jive dancing and showcasing them to each other. Unfortunately, this was interrupted by a siren and we were taken to an air raid shelter until it was safe to leave.

Well done to the children for really getting into character and a big thank you to everyone who helped their child look the part, the costumes were great!
