Sports Week - Upper 7 Miss Booth

Date: 1st Jul 2017 @ 10:06pm

Sports week has been a fantastic experience that helped the children discover new challenges in sport, work as a team and be inspired by others.

We were very fortunate to begin our week at an aspirations day at Finch Farm with Everton in the Community. The whole day from start to finish was truly inspirational. Guest speakers: Dean Schneider, Graeme Sharp and Steve Johnson each shared motivational stories that I feel have had a positive impact on all of the children. Trying blind football was a huge challenge for the pupils, however it really helped them to work effectively as a team and communicate with each other. I would like to say a massive thank you to Andy, Jenna, Danielle and Olivia for the ongoing support you have provided Plantation with over the past 12 weeks - You have been amazing! We will miss you all very much and we hope to see you again in the future!

Although we didn't have the greatest weather this week, that didn't stop Upper 7 from having a bit of competition in the classroom. Everyone participated in a table tennis competition - it was very close! In the final Connor and Jodie battled it out to be crowned the winner. After a tense match, Jodie won. Well done!

We couldn't let sports week go by without the teachers having a little fun themselves. Thank you Mr Noblett for organising the Dodgeball 'Gauntlet run'. Year 6 pupils had to make it to the finish line without being struck by a dodgeball. Well done Safa who managed to survive the run and take the gold medal! Take a little look at the pictures below. I don't know who had more fun, the teachers or the pupils!

This week would not have been possible without our fantastic PE co-ordinator - Mr Sanders. Thank you very much for all your hard work and determination!
