Art Gallery Survey results (46 responses)

Thanks to everyone who responded to the survey. The responses will really help us shape the arts in our school in the future. Also, I would really appreciate the parents who said that they had specific skills could make themselves known to Mr Palmer. Thanks.

Do you have any suggestions as to how the Gallery could have been improved?

Many people said it was perfect. Suggestions included:

  • More people taking money
  • One way system around the hall
  • Child’s names on all pictures
  • Too expensive (Several people mentioned this, however the company charged £6 per picture to frame the pictures as well as to provide the frames and canvases. School charged £1 per picture to raise funds)
  • Other fundraising at the same time- ie arts and crafts that the children have made.

We are constantly trying to improve the Arts in our school. Do you have ideas as to how we could do that?

  • Make little pictures- more of them for the money.
  • Lower the price but do it several times a year –ie (seasonally)
  • Children should go to art galleries to see art work.
  • Similar event involving parents
  • Have it in ages groups
  • Christmas decorations/Christmas cards and then gallery before summer
  • Extra curricular classes
  • Outdoor art fixtures
  • All art work on display
  • Children decorate  as a class sections of a wall
  • Arts workshops for parents to attend with child
  • Forest school activities
  • Children to be allowed to perform in dance and drama- not just in tiny parts of a school play.

Do you or a relative have any music/dance/art related skills that you would be happy to share with our children.

  • Degree in textile design
  • Crafts
  • Samba drumming
  • Dance school

Are there any other arts related clubs/activities that would like to see taking place in our school and would you be happy to pay for them?

  • Different types of dance classes
  • End of year productions for other classes- fee for guaranteed seat.
