08.05.17 - Lancashire Schools Golf Under 15's championship at Blackburn Golf club
Date: 10th May 2017 @ 5:00pm
We are very fortunate at Plantation Primary to have a plethora of gifted and talented children in a wide range of sports! Our very own Tom Richardson is an example of this, as he is an exceptionally talented golfer! Thanks to the support of his parents, we managed to enter him into the Lancashire Schools Golf Under 15's championship at Blackburn Golf club. Below is a summary of the day by Tom:
Today was very enjoyable and I played on a very hilly golf course, which was called Blackburn Golf club. I played some good shots on short and long holes. I hit a shot on a PAR 3 to about 6 feet from the pin and holed the putt for a birdie 2! I played against other boys who were 15 years old and they were also playing off a handicap of 28, so I was up against it today! However, my finishing score was 72 for 18 holes, which left me at +1 for the day.
His score of +1 meant that out of approximately 60 competitiors, Tom finished in the top half! This is an incredible achievement considering that some of his competitiors were 5 years older than him! Well done Tom!! Watch his terrific Birdie putt below!
