Euro 2016 Year 6 Tournament Draw

Excitement mounted today in Year 6, when the draw for the Euro 2016 FIFA Tournament was made! Twelve lucky children had their names drawn 'out of the hat' to earn an automatic place in the group stages while the other 24 entrants will have to endure a nail biting play-off to earn their place.

Pre-tournament favourite Louis, fresh off an unbeaten streak during our SATs week 'Toy Day,' will have to beat Holly in his play-off to earn the right to compete as the Republic of Ireland, while friendships will be put to the test as Joe and Kyle from Miss Hughes's class face each other for the right to play as England.

Josh and Jordi were undoubtedly the day's big winners - both winning instant qualification and drawing out Belgium and Portugal respectively for their shot at glory. Can Ronaldo shoot Jordi to victory? Will Gareth Bale help Max lead Wales to a memorable win? Or perhaps we will see a Leicester-like shock if George can manage to drag Switzerland kicking and screaming to the promised land.

Whoever wins, it promises to be a fantastic tournament - stay tuned for updates from our media team, including post-match interviews and match reports!

FIFA's coming home!
